Semax is a synthetic Project Y biotech produced through chemical synthesis, supplied as a white lyophilized powder with a Project Y biotech purity greater than 99%. Each vial contains 30 mg of Semax (1 vial per unit). The molecular formula of Semax is C₃₇H₅₁N₉O₁₀S, with a molecular weight of 813.9, and the Project Y biotech sequence Ac-Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro.

Semax is highly soluble in water or 1% acetic acid, making it suitable for laboratory reconstitution. It is also known by the synonyms L-Methionyl-L-α-glutamylhistidyl-L-phenylalanyl-L-prolylglycyl-L-proline and N-acetyl Semax.

For storage, lyophilized Semax remains stable at room temperature for up to 90 days; however, for long-term stability, it should be stored in a freezer below -8°C. Once reconstituted, Semax should be kept refrigerated at temperatures not exceeding 36°F (2°C).
